Restless Presents, an LA-based collective of bookers, promoters and music lifers, have re-emerged to announce Substance 2022 taking place at the Los Angeles Theater Oct. 21-22 in downtown LA. This year’s event marks the fifth iteration of Restless Presents’ annual multifaceted celebration of dark rock, high-force industrial, percolating electronics and strident post-punk with a lineup of over 30 artists including The Jesus & Mary Chain, Kittin & The Hacker, The Chameleons, Linea Aspera, Schwefelgelb, Kælan Mikla and more. Plus, Substance alum Boy Harsher returns to close out the final day with a wild dance party held at the Los Angeles Theater’s pristine Ballroom.

With three stages of live music, plus DJs, installations, and unforgettable environments inside the breathtaking venue, Substance 2022 is primed to be an incredible immersive experience. The festival touts it was created partially as an excuse for those involved to see all their favorite bands at once, and partly as a response to the massive, sweltering day-time festivals – Substance is an immersive indoor experience steeped in visual and sonic exploration spanning the hours from 5 pm to 2 am.

Tickets are on sale now with general admission prices ranging from $105 – $215 with day and weekend passes available. Fans 18 and over can purchase tickets exclusively on Restless Nites.
VIP tickets are available for day and weekend passes ranging from $185 – $350 (fees included). The 1-Day VIP Pass includes 2 pre-paid premium drink tickets, a Substance 2022 Tote Bag and access to a private, elevated VIP viewing area and bar, while the two-day VIP pass includes all of the above plus a Substance 2022 t-shirt; the 2 pre-paid premium drink tickets are available per day with two-day VIP passes.

This year we are able to present a slew of the deepest architects of post-punk and goth aesthetic, alongside some of the most amazing up-and-coming acts in the scene.
