August 1 — Tolliver with Nick Pagan at the Echo

Performing alongside Ghetto Garden, Aliek and Nick Pagan, funky and innovative artist Tolliver comes to The Echo on Aug. 1 for a free performance. His first as part of his Monday night residency for The Echo, taking place every Monday this August, Tolliver and co. are ready to get down with fans in a fun, intimate event. Each with their own unique style, the evening is set to be an eclectic array of talented musicians.

August 4 – Benny Sings and St. Panther at the Fonda Theatre

Songwriter, producer and artist from Amsterdam, Benny Sings’ decades long career has amassed an impressive catalog of music with his interesting electro compositions and soft vocals. Coming to the Fonda Theatre on Aug. 4, with LA’s St. Panther, this lineup is sure to be a dazzling evening of indie electro. Both artists have recent releases — Sings dropped a remaster of his 2011 album Art and dropped new album Music last year, while St. Panther has a string of singles including her most recent tune, “Not the Way” featuring Pierce.blue.

August 5 – Kamasi Washington at The Ford

Hailed as one of the most innovative jazz performers of his time, saxophonist Kamasi Washington brings his sultry, soul warming music to The Ford on Aug. 5. Throughout his career, Washington has wowed jazz critics and fans alike with his unique and brazen style that combines a silky smooth texture with ripples of inventive personal touch. Having played with a diverse range of artists, from Flying Lotus to Run the Jewels, Washington is a one of a kind artist of the highest caliber.

August 5 – Mt. Joy at the Hollywood Palladium

Currently in the midst of their Orange Blood tour, in support of their new album, Orange Blood, Mt. Joy come to the Hollywood Palladium on Aug. 5. Based in LA, but with Philadelphia roots, Mt. Joy’s indie rock music touches on the seams of America, first making waves with their standout 2017 single, “Sheep.” Since then, they have cultivated a palpable energy with their music and stage performances, penning deeply felt music that is universal to the listener. Joining them at the Palladium is Wilderado.

August 6 — Zola Jesus at the Lodge Room

Moody, etherial and gothic artist Zola Jesus comes to the Lodge Room on Aug. 6 with White Boy Scream. The musical project of singer, songwriter, and producer Nika Roza Danilova, Zola Jesus is an eccentric artist with a hair raising style and unmistakable voice that cuts right to the marrow of life. Usually in full control of her music, her latest full-length relase, Arkhorn, sees her collaborating with other artists to expand on her singular sound.
