Desde México: Pacífico Dance Company’s 30th Anniversary is coming to the Ford on Saturday, Sep. 10. With doors are at 6:30 PM and the show kicks off at 8 PM. If you haven’t yet had a chance to visit the Ford there’s probably no better show to catch than this one! The night will also include the world premiere of Matthew de Leon’s A lo Norteño. Other shows that will be taking place at this increasingly iconic and gorgeous outdoor venue include Noche Cosmica, ¡Viva La Tradición! Juan Gabrielísimo, and Silvana Estrada.

Since its founding in 1992 as a nonprofit, the Pacífico Dance Company has made a point of preserving and promoting both classical and modern Mexican dance styles. Led by Adriana Astorga-Gainey, the company’s works include Frida Kahlo, the Legend on La Llorona, Calacas Clandestinas, and the Virgin of Guadalupe.

This time they’re bringing their culturally colorful explorations to the Ford stage to look at the diversity inherent in the Mexican landscape. The night will feature two specific dance suites that will look at the history of the country, one shaped by colonialism, but also influenced deeply by African and Mexican Amerindians.
