Jaws of Love., the solo project of Colombian-American recording artist Kelcey Ayer, also the co-lead vocalist of L.A.’s beloved Local Natives, has announced an intimate residency at the Silverlake Lounge for October. Grimy Goods is thrilled to co-present the Jaws of Love. residency along with music blog turned creative agency, The Wild Honey Pie. Featuring a solid selection of supporting acts, and of course a performance each night from the talented, multi-hyphenate that is Ayer, the residency will be an anticipated string of events.

Ayer recently started his next incantation of Jaws of Love. with the heartfelt release of his new EP, Patricia, in memory of his late mother of the same name. Released this past May, the new offering follows Ayer’s introspective debut album, Tasha Sits Close To The Piano. Co-produced by Danny Reisch (Shearwater, Sun June), Ayer’s combined strength in impactful songwriting mixed with his signature lush vocal croons, truly shines throughout the 5-track EP as he touches on depression and reconnection with his Colombian roots, through the loving memory of his mother.

An emotive work that goes beyond concept, the album delivers magnetic with its experimental sonics and sharp dips of distortion creating a beautiful dichotomy of sound when presented against Ayer’s lulling vocals.

The Jaws of Love. residency at the Silverlake Lounge will kick off Wednesday, Oct. 4 with support from ELKE, Shrimpnose, and a DJ set by Stryker. Taking place every Wednesday through October, Jaws of Love. will be joined by enchanting voices such as Ella Vos and Omotola — as well as LLIIKKEEAAGGHHOOSSTT, Lindsey Rose Black, Trace, Tomemitsu, Outer Bodies — and different DJ sets every night to get the vibes brewing. The Jaws of Love. residency at the Silverlake Lounge is for 21-and-up guests and FREE to attend. The shows kick off at 7:30pm every Wednesday night this October. We recommend you get there early to secure your spot as this residency will be an anticipated experience.
