With her third album nearing its release this month Meg Myers has released a second single from the record titled TZIA, sharing the new song “My Mirror” alongside a music video. She’s also announced a huge run of headlining tour dates that include a stop at The Regent in Los Angeles on May 23. Serving as the follow-up to her last album Take Me to the Disco, the forthcoming album TZIA sees Myers once more wielding her ecstatic alt-rock sensibilities as a source of radical personal growth.

Armed with her riveting croon and backed by a surging melody, Myers appears on “My Mirror” at her most self-reflective. Against its crystalline soundscape she crafts an anthem devoted to the belief that other people are sources of some of the most important insights into our own selves. Lucidly — and with no small amount of invigorating energy — Myers realizes that it’s only through others that we’re able to properly orient who we are. “Tell me what is pure and what is fake / In the space I create in,” she sings against the thrum of guitars as the song opens. “Whem I’m walking on the edge / I need my reflector.”
In the music video for “My Mirror,” directed by Alex Bittan, performs her track in a positively alluring and arresting scene shot entirely in monochromatic shades. Walking along underneath concrete shadows of freeways, she eventually comes across a doppelgänger of herself. It’s a surreal moment transformed into bliss and one that movingly reflects just how rapturous it can be to find yourself in others when you truly open up to them.
“From my perspective, we are one universe expressing itself through many physical vessels,” Myers explained. “Remembering itself, getting to know itself. ‘My Mirror’ is really about the importance of relationships and what great reflections they can be to activate the parts of us that have been laying dormant. I believe all types of relationships have the power to significantly shift us into greater levels of awareness and bring accelerated growth when we are willing to learn from them and be open to understanding their true purpose.”
