Although I’m sure most peeps out there don’t even know what Fête de la Musique is, I was totally surprised to hear about some cool events popping up the weekend of this awesome Internationally know day for music lovers worldwide. For those of you that don’t know, Fête de la Musique is “World Music Day.” It started back in the 80s as a small music festival in France and has grown to be celebrated every where in the world at the start of the summer solstice, June 21st. I was fortunate enough to experience my first International Fête de la Musique event back in 2006 in Berlin. Not only was it World Cup time, but the city was covered with pop-up bands and DJs all across the map. It was amazing.

Since June 21st falls on a Wednesday this year, the good people at Make Music Pasadena are putting on quite the FREE music festival on Saturday, June 19, 2010. The twelve-hour music festival features an eclectic line up of musical performers including: Matt & Kim, The Antlers, Breakestra, Warpaint, The Growlers, Big Whup, Voxhaul Broadcast, and many more! All this for FREE!!!!
