She has a voice that just swallows you whole, she’s humble (met her at Sasquatch!), and a classic beauty. If you’re still not acquainted with the the Brooklyn singer-songwriter, Sharon Van Etten, we highly recommend you get to know her beautiful and heartfelt music. Don’t worry, it’s not the kind of singer-songwriter jams that put you to sleep or that you would find in any way boring.

Sharon delivers emotive songs about heartbreak, life and all its obstacles while still sounding unique and edgy. Though her lyrics are a rich and driving force that makes her music stand out among the rest, it’s that perfect angel-like voice that really wins your heart over. Not to mention, in her 2010 release, Epic (which is still my favorite), Sharon really came into her own with powerfully emotive vocals and suspenseful arrangements that sent shivers down spines. This woman is just a straight up badass. Whatever pain caused her to create such an “epic” album, we’re kind of thankful for it because the music that came out of it is timelessly addictive.

In 2012 Sharon released her third studio LP, Tramp which was another knock-out album growing more hip and unique in its melodies and orchestrations. And now Sharon has a new album coming titled Are We There. The album will be released on May 27th and you can pre-order it here. You can crush all over Sharon Van Etten this May as she heads out on tour. She headlines the El Rey Theatre on June 28th! DO NOT MISS OUT.
