The gritty English rock ‘n’ roll trio, Band of Skulls arrived at the Belasco Theater in Downtown L.A. this past Tuesday with a fierce militia of heavy riffs and blistering garage pop. Touring in support of their third full-length record, Himalayan which is set for release on April 1st off Electric Blues Recordings via Kobalt Label Services — Band of Skulls proved again that their heavy slab of badassery is a force to be reckoned with. These guys just exude all things cool, and we just can’t get enough of their smooth bassist, Emma Richardson — she is one slick chick. The packed crowd at the Belasco was more than thrilled to hear Band of Skulls new album live, as well as some classic hits we’ve grown to love and expect from the band.

Opening for Band of Skulls were Grimy Goods L.A. favorites, Deap Vally. We’ve covered these ladies at least 10 times since their 2011 debut, and they never get stale. Considered one of the best dressed L.A. bands, dripping with style and sex-appeal, Deap Vally shred that good ole American rock ‘n’ roll like it’s nobody’s business.
