A couple weeks ago we sent our writer and video correspondent (Mark E. Ortega) to the musical madness that is South By Southwest for a five-day music bender. We wanted to capture the SXSW experience on video so people that have not been, can see what SXSW is all about. Not to mention, what the whole “music lifestyle” is all about.
We teamed up with GoPro to create a mini festival documentary that captures a real festival experience. Unlike our past Grimy TV interviews that were created with two camera men using professional cameras and audio solutions, we wanted to produce something a bit more DIY and from a POV (point-of-view) angle. Big thanks to GoPro for hooking us up with some HERO4s and gear. That slick little camera can captures some great footage!
Check out our Grimy TV SXSW experience through the eyes of Mark. From hip hop to rock shows and interacting with the debaucherous crowds on 6th Street, to chatting with bands and watching the SXSW madness unravel, this is what SXSW is all about! Watch the SXSW video below.
Featured Bands: James Bay, Bleachers, Natalie Prass, Run The Jewels, Red Man, Joey Bada$$, Marian Hill, Charlotte OC, J. Cole, Handsome Ghost, Alvvays, and Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts (RIP guitarist, Jeremy Brown).
