Moullinex & Sara Tavares have teamed up for a cosmically-lush new single off the former’s upcoming album Requiem for Empathy. “Minina di Céu” is a spacey, upbeat mind-bender, one featuring Moullinex’s (Luis Clara Gomes) signature dizzying soundscapes and Tavares lending her invigorating vocals in Cape Verdean Creole to the song.
The song, the title of which translated to “girl from the skies,” tells the story of a young girl that wakes up one day with the desire to see more than she’s ever seen, to explore the universe without limitations, and fulfill her curiosity. The track might be an addicting danceable beat, but Gomes and Tavares also transform the track into this energizingly hopeful piece that winds itself around the duo’s magnetic electronica and ethereal atmosphere.
You won’t be able to pull its buzzing synth medley out of your head once you’ve gone down the wormhole of “Minina di Céu,” and once the song ends you’ll find yourself heading in for another listen.
