Hailing from Mexico City, and currently on their first U.S. Tour, Son Rompe Pera, make a stop at the Levitt Pavilion for a free show Saturday night. The music-filled evening began with DJ sets by Late Night Laggers and El Canyonazo from the Subsuelo crew. Their sets ranged from cumbia, hip-hop, house, reggaeton to dancehall, just enough to get everyone on their feet and moving.
With a mix of garage-cumbia-marimba-punk style, Son Rompe Pera’s 75-minute set was a sweaty, non-stop dance party. They had attendees of all ages dancing and singing along. They performed several songs off their debut album as well as a couple of classics like “Tiburon, Tiburon”.
Catch Son Rompe Pera on Wednesday at La Cita Bar before they head out to the East Coast.
Their debut album Batuco is out now via AYA records.
