The 2024 festival will mark the first time that Mayday Parade and The Maine will perform on the same bill since its 2019 debut. In addition to the many bands performing with them, a host of others will provide support across select dates, these include The Summer Set, Hot Milk, Diva Bleach, and Like Roses. If ever you were to attend Sad Summer Fest this would absolutely be the year to do it!

Alex Garcia of Mayday Parade said of the festival: “For most of my adult life, I’ve associated the summer with music festivals; their open-air venues, the mix of tour bus exhaust and heat radiating off asphalt, and, of course, hearing my favorite music at twilight, lit by the flicker of fireflies – Sad Summer epitomizes this experience. It also serves as a unifying force in our music scene, a place for every emo kid to gather around, connect with fellow fans, and truly be themselves. With this in mind, it is a deep honor to close Sad Summer; the music we’ve poured our hearts and souls into becoming an indelible part of those warm summer nights, where friends and memories are made.”

John O’Callaghan of The Maine also shared: “A lot can change in four summers. And for me, a lot has. But a constant throughout the peaks and valleys of the last four summers has been my love for playing music loudly, seeing old faces and making new amigos. This marks the 5th anniversary of the Sad Summer Festival, and I couldn’t dream up a better place to rip gigs and see smiling people lose their heads. But the real question at hand is…Corn dogs or nah?”

Why We Love Sad Summer Fest

Sad Summer Fest emerged to fill the void that Vans Warped Tour left behind — for the last five years it has become a reoccurring summer event that has more than lived up to that legacy. Part of the reason for its success has been its devotion to giving fans an intimate live experience that doesn’t force them to make hard decisions regarding who to see and who to miss. There is only one stage at Sad Summer Fest so you won’t need to race between sets to catch the next band — meaning you will actually get to see the bands on the bill.

The festival is also proactive in its partnerships with non-profits: this year fans will have a chance to learn about HeadCount (voter registration) and Reverb (environmental impact), as well as Calling All Crows (advocates for women and marginalized communities). All three organizations will have an on-site presence, allowing attendees to engage and learn from the resources provided.

Pro Tips When Buying Your Tickets

First, on the day of the presale or general onsale (whichever you prefer), login to your Ticketmaster account (go to my account or sign in located on the upper right corner of the page) 30 minutes ahead of the sale time. If you don’t have one, create one now.

Be sure to add your billing info (aka credit card info) before jumping into the digital queue for a quick check-out. Once the presale starts, remain in the digital queue. Only use one browser window because using multiple browsers or devices and multiple accounts with the same phone number can result in errors. Trust, it’s happened to us before! Don’t refresh your page, do be patient, don’t leave your page, do get those tickets!

What To Do If Tickets Are Sold Out?

If tickets sell out, your other option is to buy them via online resellers like VividSeats or StubHub. When all else fails, we prefer these resell options because both offer a 100% Guarantee. You can also purchase resale tickets through Ticketmaster’s resale program. Just search for the concert or event you want to attend, and see if any resale tickets are available. We recommend comparing the three options to determine which one works best for you.

Also, more standard tickets are often released in the weeks leading up to the show date. We’ve seen it with Oasis, Nine Inch Nails, BLACKPINK, and many more. These tickets are normally production release tickets and sideview/limited-view tickets. It’s a secret gatekept by many, but if you’re reading this, now you know.
