On Friday evening, Emily Armstrong, the new Linkin Park singer, shared a statement via her Instagram Stories regarding her support of charged and imprisoned rapist Danny Masterson. In her statement, she admits to supporting someone she “considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer.”

We all know who that “friend” is she’s talking about.

Armstrong then expressed her regret in her actions.

“Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have. I always try to see the good in people, and I misjudged him. I have never spoken with him since. Unimaginable details emerged and he was later found guilty.”

“To say it as clearly as possible: I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes.”

In her statement, Armstrong did not address the many questions fans have been asking about the church of Scientology and its alleged immoral behavior, as previously pointed out by Cedric Bixler-Zavala.

Armstrong also did not make a formal apology to her fans and the many Linkin Park fans around the globe who were triggered and affected by her support of a known rapist. Many fans of both Armstrong and Linkin Park found this especially concerning, considering Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington was a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.

Cedric Bixler-Zavala replied back with his own luchador-like commentary to the tune of “Bigmouth Strikes Again” by The Smiths.
