WTF? Why did Besame Mucho at Dodger Stadium just get canceled? The beloved LA-born festival, set to take place December 21 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and headlined by Shakira, announced today via their social media that the event “will no longer take place.”

Additional performances included Enrique Iglesias, Los Tigres del Norte, Banda MS, Pitbull, Gloria Trevi, Juanes, and more. Tickets to Besame Mucho were priced at $345 (general admission), $645 (general admission+), and $745 (VIP). Tickets were not sold out.

This past October, Shakira canceled her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran U.S. tour to upgrade the venues from arenas to stadiums. The tour was supposed to begin on November 2 at the Acrisure Arena but will now start in May 2025. The tour has yet to sell out, and tickets to Shakira’s LA date at SoFi Stadium are still available.

Besame Mucho festival organizers shared a statement via social media without thoroughly explaining why the festival was canceled. Besame Mucho is put on by Live Nation, combining the best of both La Tocada Music Festival and Tropicália.

We are heartbroken to share that due to circumstances beyond our control, this year’s Besame Mucho Festival in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium will no longer take place.

We take great pride in our annual celebration of exceptional music and culture, connecting generations in a way no other event can. After working tirelessly all year to bring you another unforgettable show in December, we are deeply disappointed to share this news.

Your tickets purchased directly from Front Gate Tickets will be automatically refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days.

Understandably, fans who purchased their tickets and travel are unhappy about the news and have plenty to stay.

@itsrubychavez — Really upset, a month before? So many booked travel expenses in advance. This definitely gonna hurt yall for future events. Do better

@david.ayala.32 — They couldn’t sell enough tickets so they canceled the event

@viqween — @david.ayala.32 exactly! They got greedy, maybe they’ll learn for the next one…if there’s a next one.

@vanepalos_ — @david.ayala.32 yup. They shouldn’t have done it 4 days before xmas

@chombess.logic — @david.ayala.32 wrong it was because the biggest headliner was shakira and she dipped because she did people dirty by going to her headline tour

@vanepalos_ — @chombess.logic it wasn’t because of her lol. This wasn’t a part of her tour this is only 1 hr concert its was because of the holidays and didn’t sell out.

@yes1128 — This is the SAME company that fucked us over for Lovers & Friends earlier this year!!! At least they gave enough notice to hopefully cancel flights and hotel stays to get some of your money back, not post it on social media less than 12 hours before the event when literally EVERYONE was already in Vegas!!! Yes, I’m still pissed!!

@alexa_elizabeth017 — Fuck no …never again …this was supposed to be a surprise for my mom to see all her favorite artists in one place so i decided to take a chane …..NEVER AGAIN

@la_gorda_mas_chida — What the actual f*** I was looking forward to this and skipped out on numerous concerts thinking this was going to take place. And why will the refund take 30 days?

@javiervalenzuela_ — Some unsolicited feedback – having the event the weekend before Christmas is tough. With expenses already high in the month of December, it was difficult to commit to this festival.

@alienfromla — Do tropicalia again!!!

Meanwhile, Besame Mucho Austin was just announced for April 5, 2025. Tickets are on sale now.
