Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Omotola has released a new avant-garde music video for “Chasing Wolves.” The song is featured on her three-track mixtape, Moonlit, Baby, released last summer.

The “Chasing Wolves” video is an enhanced live performance and serves as Omotola’s directorial debut. With art film vibes, the visual features clips of Omotola performing live at the Lyric Hyperion in a light pink velvet dress. Her presence is captivating, like that of a lounge singer from yesteryear. However, the video is quite experimental. It reminds of the montage of scenes that can often play out in our dreams. They don’t quite make sense and are usually left to interpretation.

“[It’s] a bit Lana Del Rey-esque with old film beauty and a nod or 2 of LA,” shares Omotola of her creation. “It’s balanced with a messier kind of emotion and passion.”

Omotola is constantly upping the ante with her art and never shies from a challenge. With Moonlit, Baby, we saw her take full ownership of her work. It personified her love for exploring sounds and embracing the “weird.” That theme continues with her self-directed video for “Chasing Wolves.” Watch the video below.
