The Weeknd has canceled his concert at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. The one-off show supporting his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, was supposed to take place on January 25, but the artist has canceled in light of the tragic fires in Los Angeles. Additionally, Abel Tesfaye has moved his album release to January 31. The artist shared the following statement via his social media today.
“Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, the Rose Bowl show has been cancelled and the album date has been postponed to 01.31.25.”
“This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time. In light of this, I have also decided to push the release of my album to January 31st.”
“My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild.”
The Ticketmaster event page for the concert explains that fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster “don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.”
“Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.”
A new concert date for The Weeknd at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena or any other Los Angeles venue has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned.
Please note: we updated this news item to add the correction that the Weeknd’s concert at the Rose Bowl was “canceled” (not “postponed).
