“El Cantante” by Hector Lavoe played softly as a small crowd filled the general admission section of the swanky jazz bar, The Sun Rose, located inside the Pendry West Hollywood. There were about 60 couples and a handful of hopeless romantics in attendance.

The date was February 15, and Tei Shi, the Colombian and Canadian singer-songwriter, concluded her two-night jazz soirée with a curated experience and a live band dedicated to love, affirming that romance is everlasting.

The night was young, and love filled the air as Tei Shi performed covers of classics like “Loving You” by Minnie Riperton, “My Funny Valentine” by Chet Baker, and “My Man” by Barbra Streisand from the iconic movie *Funny Girl*. Guests enjoyed a raspberry sparkling wine mixed with vodka in the red-hued room while sinking into the velvet booths and cozy tables on that Saturday night.

Inspired by her 2017 release “Baby,” Tei Shi was all smiles as she expressed how much of a dream come true this weekend experience had been. She felt that this particular song was always meant to be accompanied by a live band and performed as a jazz piece. “A Kiss Goodbye” was a fan favorite for the night, and she commanded the room with her sultry and airy vocals as couples giggled and embraced around Valentine’s-themed macaroons and the evening’s signature drink. Love was truly in the air, creating the perfect setting for a date night on the town.
