On August 14, the Blue Note Jazz Club will open its new Los Angeles venue at 6372 Sunset Boulevard, with shows slated for the rest of the year, including Killer Mike, Kamasi Washington, Emily King, Charlie Puth, and more. Pianist and producer Robert Glasper will perform on the opening night, marking the first of the Blue Note’s Los Angeles dates that extend into 2026.

“I’m honored to partner up with Blue Note and open the doors to what will be a significant cultural intersection for the Los Angeles community,” said Glasper. “Los Angeles has always been a second home to me, and I can’t wait to bring L.A. culture to the Blue Note.”

In the spirit of the original Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City, a 44-year institution in the music scene of the area, the Hollywood location will also reflect LA’s identity as a city and as a home for jazz musicians, many of whom will be playing in the coming months following its opening.

“Blue Note New York has a uniquely New York energy, and for Blue Note LA, it’s important to honor what makes this city’s creative energy and spirit so distinctive,” said Alex Kurland, Director of Programming at Blue Note Entertainment Group. “Blue Note embraces the space to collaborate and experience those spontaneous moments that are special.”

The Blue Note Jazz Club in LA is a mid-century space designed by the New York-based Legeard Studio, featuring a main showroom with a capacity of 200, in keeping with the intimate atmosphere of the NYC location.

Another space, aptly titled the “B-Side” room, has a 100-person capacity, with upcoming shows in the works. Each artist and/or band will perform two shows a night, at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM.

Food, prepared by chef Asaf Maoz, who co-founded the LA-based restaurant Carmel, will also be served for brunch and dinner throughout the week.

The new Hollywood venue joins a long list of other Blue Note locations across the world, inlcuding venues in Hawaii and China.

Earlier in the year, Blue Note joined the LA Phil for their Jazz Festival series at the Hollywood Bowl, a precursor of what’s to come for the new location. The Blue Note’s Jazz Festivals began in 2011 at their NYC location, with headliners over the years ranging from Mary J. Blige to Jill Scott.

The new Los Angeles venue gives Blue Note the opportunity to bring those festivals to LA while fostering another home for jazz in the city.
