Inglewood singer-songwriter SiR will make his headline debut at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, July 20, as part of the KCRW Festival series. Bringing his unique blend of soul, R&B, and hip-hop to the iconic venue as the headliner marks a big leap in an already accomplished career. Fellow singer-songwriter Leon Thomas opens the concert at 7 p.m., with SiR taking the stage thereafter. Tickets are on sale now.
If you’re a lover of smooth R&B and slick production, and especially if you’re an Angeleno, here’s why you cannot miss SiR at the Hollywood Bowl.

R&B Through and Through
For several years, SiR was among the most standout voices on the Top Dawg roster. As opposed to labelmates like ScHoolboy Q and, for a time, Kendrick Lamar, his combination of velvety vocals and spacey production propelled him to the forefront of R&B singers thanks to his constant pushing of the genre forward that honored years past. And despite having a tried and true formula he seemingly perfected at the start of his career, HEAVY saw him taking on a more mature outlook while stringing together features from artists like Ty Dolla $ign and Anderson .Paak, to name a few.
SiR is One of the Most Consistent Artists
SiR announced himself as a talented songwriter from the get-go. Since his 2015 debut album, Seven Days, he has enjoyed a comfortable position between radio-ready melodies and the sort of atmospheric production that challenges what people expect from R&B. The one-two punch of November and Chasing Summer further cemented his place in the genre, where the two projects expanded his reach beyond an already devoted cult following. By the time 2024’s HEAVY dropped, the strength of singles such as “D’Evils” and “Hair Down” earned him a special spot among fellow singers, established and up-and-coming. From his albums to the stage, SiR is the type of artist who never disappoints and consistently delivers.
Leon Thomas Delivers an Equally Powerful Performance
It’s only right that SiR is preceded by an equally seasoned singer-songwriter/producer like Leon Thomas. With years of experience in the industry, dating back to his time as a child actor on the Nickelodeon show “Victorious,” Thomas has written and produced for everyone, ranging from SZA to Ariana Grande. But outside of his work behind the scenes, which won him a Grammy in 2018, he has also found success in his solo career, breaking through with 2024’s MUTT and successfully reinventing himself as a singer-songwriter who’s just getting started. Thomas’ Hollywood Bowl set will prelude his MUTTS DON’T HEEL World Tour, kicking off this October.
Personal Stories on a Big Stage
While there’s no shortage of stellar trademarks that have become synonymous with SiR’s catalog, among his best talents is his ability to ground songs and entire projects in a personal, face-to-face vulnerability. Whether it’s the isolation heard in his voice on “John Redcorn” or the fiery romance he describes on “The Bullet and the Gun,” it comes as no surprise that SiR has the power to bring the intimacy of a small venue to the Bowl’s wide-reaching, 17,500-maximum capacity.
There’s a lot to look forward to when you have SiR and Leon Thomas maintaining the vibes of your evening. And with the two of them enjoying what is perhaps the biggest two years of their careers thus far, the Bowl is another win for both of their rising profiles.
Experience One of the Most Iconic Venues in the World
The Hollywood Bowl has more to offer than just the show you bought tickets for. Get to the venue early (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) to grab some of their street food offerings or bring in your favorite snacks and drinks for a pre-show picnic. We can’t recommend enough, exploring the grounds either through a self-guided or podcast-led walking tour of the venue or just on your own. This will give you a greater awareness and appreciation of the Bowl’s illustrious history, its beautiful vegetation, and the creatures that inhabit it.
Pro Tip: Take a ride on the Hollywood Bowl’s infamous “people mover,” aka the moving sidewalk/escalator. It’s a fun spot for a photo opp!
Tickets to SiR with Leon Thomas at the Hollywood Bowl are still available and starting at $24. Whether you’re in the far back rows, which offer the most epic and scenic views of the Bowl, or in cozy garden box sippin’ on some bubbles — every seat at the Hollywood Bowl is a good time.
Other shows to consider at the Hollywood Bowl: Diana Ross (July 25-26), I Want My 80s (July 27), and Jurassic Park in Concert with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil.
