UPDATE (July 21, 2025): Despite the destructive fire of the main stage, Tomorrowland in the Belgian town of Boom was a success. Workers put in tireless work to clear the debris, incorporating the remains of the main stage, and delivered an event nothing short of a miracle.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, it is suspected that the fire was caused by fireworks being tested on the stage.

A fire has destroyed the main stage at the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. The EDM festival was scheduled to open its gates on Friday, July 18, and run through Sunday, July 20, 2025, as well as on the weekend of July 25-27. Both weekends were expected to welcome some 400,000 attendees with a stacked lineup featuring performances by Amelie Lens, Anyma, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, Hardwell, and many more.
“Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged,” festival organizers shared in a statement.
“We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.”
The festival organizer also shared that the “DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned.”
With the major loss of the main stage, the festival is “focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday).”
The cause of the Tomorrowland mainstage fire has yet to be revealed. Speculation on social media has fans claiming “fireworks exploded,” while nearby neighbors express they heard fireworks.
