If you love R&B and you love LA, you can’t miss this show. A proud product of Los Angeles, SiR will make his Hollywood Bowl headline debut alongside the equally powerful voice of Leon Thomas on Sunday, July 20. Inglewood singer-songwriter SiR will bring his unique blend of soul, R&B, and hip-hop to the iconic venue as the headliner, marking a big leap in an already accomplished career. Fellow singer-songwriter Leon Thomas opens the concert at 7 p.m., with SiR taking the stage thereafter.
For several years, SiR was among the most standout voices on the Top Dawg roster. As opposed to labelmates like ScHoolboy Q and, for a time, Kendrick Lamar, his combination of velvety vocals and spacey production propelled him to the forefront of R&B singers thanks to his constant pushing of the genre forward that honored years past. And despite having a tried and true formula he seemingly perfected at the start of his career, HEAVYsaw him taking on a more mature outlook while stringing together features from artists like Ty Dolla $ign and Anderson .Paak, to name a few.
It’s only right that SiR is preceded by an equally seasoned singer-songwriter/producer like Leon Thomas. Thomas has written and produced for everyone, ranging from SZA to Ariana Grande. But outside of his work behind the scenes, which won him a Grammy in 2018, he has also found success in his solo career, breaking through with 2024’s MUTT and successfully reinventing himself as a singer-songwriter who’s just getting started.
