Following the release of her Songs For No One Vol. 2 EP last year, Phoenix-based singer-songwriter Victoria Bigelow is back with her second single of 2025, “driving u home.

The single happens to mark the second from Bigelow after she went fully independent, joining the previously released “scraps” as the start of a new era for the singer-songwriter.

While her Songs For No One series highlighted her songwriting and ability to fuse folk and pop seamlessly, “driving u home” revels in its carefully crafted atmosphere. Co-produced by frequent collaborator Devan Skaggs, the single stands out for its dreamy instrumentation that gradually builds up over the runtime.

It also happens to keep Bigelow’s intimacy and openness intact, with a demo version released alongside the track for comparison. However, what’s most impressive is how Bigelow is able to treat her songs as confessions, unafraid to be honest in her lyrics, often addressed to specific people.

“driving u home” unsurprisingly doesn’t hold back on any topic, whether it’s the lyrics that touch on mental health or the burst of catharsis heard during the chorus. And, much like the rest of Bigelow’s discography thus far, her single is more than radio-ready, considering how easy it is for the melodies to get stuck in your head.

Although there’s no word on whether the two recent releases are leading up to a Vol. 3 or a different project, it’s safe to say Bigelow knows what she’s doing.
