Last night at the Foo Fighters’ surprise show at the Observatory OC in Santa Ana, Dave Grohl hinted at more small shows underway. Before hurtling into “Best of You,” Grohl spoke directly to fans at the 1700 capacity venue, lucky enough to score a $30 ticket, to let them know that there are going to be more “little gigs” for fans to attend.
“This is the best way to start this new phase in our band where we get to go out,” shared Grohil. “Just so you know, like, we did that other little gig (Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo). We did this little gig (The Observatory OC in Santa Ana). There’s going to be lots of little gigs so keep your fucking eyes on. The big gigs are fun, but this shit’s really special. So thank you very much for sharing this with us.”
While Los Angeles waits for their own special small-club show with the Foo Fighters, we recall the Foos’ most intimate show at the iconic (and now defunct) indie venue Spaceland in 2011, where the Foos played to a room of some 300 fans. We can only hope …
