Turn it up! Björk’s new single “Atopos” thumps, and it thumps hard. The first single from the Icelandic music artist’s forthcoming tenth album Fossora, “Atopos” is an intense, abstract dance track with hints of drum ‘n’ bass, EBM, and old school techno through out. The new track arrives with an epic video.

The video details a mushroom-filled underworld where a masked Björk, joined by Gabber Modus Operandi’s DJ Kasimyna and a brooding six-piece clarinet section whisk you away to a rave-like dream world. In a Tweet, Björk says of the video:

“it is a good intro …. kinda like fossora´s passport sonically a heavy bottom-ended bass world we have 6 bass clarinets, punchy sub drilling, nesting and digging us into the ground”

“Atopos” glows with dramatic textures and Björk’s signature cadence. A dramatic move towards the bass heavy techno rhythms of EBM, this track needs to be turned up! As so eloquently put it in a Tweet: “could you please play it loudly?”
