Ahead of a lengthy tour in support of his new album, LOVERCORE, singer-songwriter and producer Artemas is teaming up with the similarly viral Mareux on “baby give me more.”
Aside from the fact that the two artists dabble in dark electronic pop, both also share common ground when it comes to platforms like TikTok contributing to their sudden rise in popularity. In Artemas’ case, his single “i like the way you kiss me” hypnotized listeners in the same manner as Mareux’s “The Perfect Girl” cover.
However, their collaboration proves they aren’t looking to be one-hit wonders, with the abrasive industrial production on “baby give me more” bringing an experimental side out of them.
From the outset, the thumping bass, distorted vocals, and siren-like sound textures make the track a far cry from the simplistic yet hypnotic electronica both artists became known for. At the same time, it’s near impossible to deny the song’s captivating energy.
Equally impressive is how the two manage to swing for the fences. With “baby give me more” being a twisted, sexual tale, the song’s descent as the hard-hitting instrumental intensifies is a shared feat for Artemas and Mareux.
Considering Artemas is more than benefiting from the strengths of his 3x platinum hit “i like the way you kiss me,” the overall talent on display throughout LOVERCORE should put to rest any doubts towards his future material.
