Want to know what goes down backstage at FYF FEST??? This year’s FYF FEST had quite the backstage amenities presented by Sailor Jerry. Let’s just say it was all about booze and tattoos! When word got out the Sailor Jerry had locked-in tattoo sessions with Spike TV’s (Ink Master) resident Judge and tattoo artist Oliver Peck, all the bands were hitting the Airstream to get some renowned FREE ink on their limbs. And what better way to get tattooed than having a refreshing Sailor Jerry cocktail in hand while listening to some live tunes blasting from the main FYF stage, or from Oliver’s kick-ass playlist.
Right before Kyp Malone from TV on the Radio hit the main stage Saturday night, he sat down with Oliver for his first-ever Sailor Jerry tattoo — a butterfly. Metz’s Hayden Menzies got a duck to add to his collection, while his bandmate, Chris got an Octopus! Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979 received a “FUCK Yeah” octopus (in true old school FYF fashion).
Other tattoos included an elephant on Roofeeo, Drummer from TV on the Radio, and one of the baby boys from the Orwells got his FIRST TATTOO EVER — awwww, how cute.
