Will Butler

Everyone’s gotta branch out on their own and do their own thing at some point or another, even when you already have something great going on. Will Butler of Arcade Fire is going solo. The multi-instrumentalist and composer, best known for his high energy and spontaneity on stage with Arcade Fire is set to release his debut solo LP, Policy on March 10th through Merge Records. We’ve been listening to the album and it sounds fantastic. Imagine this, if Butler’s dance moves had a soundtrack, it would sound exactly like Policy.

A few weeks ago he shared his new song and the official video for “Anna”. You can watch it (along with his quirky white-boy dance moves) below.

To celebrate Butler’s solo debut, Butler has announced a Los Angeles date at The Troubadour on Wednesday, March 27th.

Additionally, this week Butler is writing a new song each day inspired by the headlines of The Guardian. Yesterday, he was inspired by the Greek debt crisis and shared a song called “Clean Monday.” You can listen to the song here.

Tickets to Will Butler at The Troubadour are priced at $16 and the show is all-ages. Supporting Will Butler is Jo Firestone. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 27th at 1pm.
