Bleached

When life gets rough and you’re not sure what to do with yourself anymore, you just gotta “keep truckin'” (like the Grateful Dead said). Los Angeles garage-punk trio, Bleached are feeling that same message with the their new single/video “Keep On Keepin’ On”. The song comes from the band’s sophomore album Welcome The Worms which is set for release April 1st vie Dead Oceans. The new album sees the mature growth of the band from a fun pop-punk band to a more matured rock group with lyrics that have deep meaning. It ain’t always great dating boys in bands and partying the night away. That shit looks better on paper than in real life (trust…). After dealing with some personal dramas, guitarist Jessie was evicted from her house and scrambling, while front-woman Jen ended an unhealthy romance—the girls dove head first into their music.

“I was a loose canon,” shares Jen. “I was losing serious control of my personal and creative life. I was falling apart, trying to escape. I felt like Bleached was the only thing I actually cared about.”

What resulted from this personal mayhem was an album that maturely reveals the growth Bleached has gone through both personally and musically. A lot of self-realization on this new record. With the album touched by the hands of world-renowned producer and engineer Joe Chiccarelli (Morrissey, The Strokes, Elton John) and co-producer Carlos de la Garza (Paramore, YACHT), Welcome The Worms is looking to be a step above their playful debut album, Ride Your Heart.

Bleached’s new single  “Keep On Keepin’ On” already has a more polished sound and mature tone. It sounds like something you would hear from Joan Jett’s catalog. Watch the girls run for cover in their new video for the single below.

You can preorder Bleached’s new album through Dead Oceans. It includes limited edition black/cream split colored vinyl, an original Bleached coloring book and Bleached patch. Bleached will tour as a four-piece all over North America this spring with a Los Angeles date at the Teragram Ballroom on May 5th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Jan. 15 at 9 a.m.
