Samhain is nearly here. If you’re looking for thing to do this Halloween in Los Angeles, Grimy Goods has got you! The season of the witch has its last big blowout, and we’ve handpicked the best Halloween shows, club nights, and film screenings happening in Los Angeles. From arena-sized theatrics to a shadow-cast screening to a rooftop full of angels and demons, Halloween in LA is full of spectacular adult things to do.
For those who want to kick off their Halloween festivities early, Janelle Monae‘s WONDAWEEN CREATURE CARNIVAL will haunt a secret location in Los Angeles on Thursday, Oct. 29, for a night of creatures, cocktails and music.
There’s also the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval on Oct. 31, and it’s always a massively good time.

Oct. 30 โ Freak Slug at The Roxy
The Roxy hosts Freak Slug on Oct. 30, ahead of Halloween with a dose of dreamy, lo-fi, ’90s-leaning indie rock. We tapped the project as an Artists You Should Know pick last year. Check out our recent interview with Freak Slug!
Oct. 30 โ Failure: The Rising Skyline Tour at The Belasco
The Belasco hosts Failure’s Rising Skyline Tour on Oct. 30, with Quannnic opening. Failure has spent decades carving out a heady strain of alt-rock, and this run follows the release of a new single featuring a rare duet with Hayley Williams.
Oct. 30 โ Hercules and Love Affair (DJ Set) at Casita Hollywood
Hercules and Love Affair bring a DJ set to Casita Hollywood on Oct. 30. The dance-floor institution behind disco-house anthems like “Blind” is built for late-night movement.
Oct. 30 โ Fime at Permanent Records Roadhouse
Permanent Records Roadhouse hosts Halloween Cover Set 6 on Oct. 30, a 21-and-up night where each band takes the stage as someone else. The lineup: Fime covering Nirvana, Hot Hot Fuss covering The Killers, and Iconique covering No Doubt. Fime, the Los Angeles rock band known for noisy, fuzz-driven songs with post-hardcore bite, has had us tracking them since their return to live shows with the single “White Collar Gold”.
Oct. 30 โ Starcrawler at The Regent Theater
The Regent Theater hosts Starcrawler on Oct. 30, with The Paranoyds and Violet Grohl also on the bill. The glam-punk wrecking crew’s feral stage presence hasn’t dulled a bit since their Growlers pop-up warm-up set for Beach Goth, while The Paranoyds bring the same scrappy, fuzzed-out garage-rock energy that tore through an Echo Park Rising set a decade ago.
Oct. 28 & 30 โ Malcolm Todd at Greek Theatre
Malcolm Todd brings his Do That Again Tour to Greek Theatre for two nights, Oct. 28 & 30. The young singer-producer’s woozy bedroom pop and alt R&B have carried him from viral TikTok clips to headlining the Greek Theatre in about three years.

Oct. 30-Nov. 1 โ Phoebe Bridgers at Intuit Dome
Phoebe Bridgers plays Intuit Dome for three nights, Oct. 30-Nov. 1, with Alex G opening all three nights. We’ve been covering her since she was opening for Television on their mesmerizing trip through Marquee Moon at the Teragram Ballroom back in 2015, caught her and her band in their signature skeletal getups during a spooky-season stop at the Greek Theatre in 2021, and once watched her swoon a GRAMMYs-week crowd with boygenius at a secret acoustic show at The Smell โ a far cry from this arena-sized production, while Alex G’s lo-fi fuzz once filled the Constellation Room alongside Japanese Breakfast.
P.S. Grimy Goods is giving away tickets to one of Phoebe’s shows. Subscribe to our newsletter to be alerted when the giveaway is live.
Oct. 30-31 โ My Chemical Romance at Hollywood Bowl
My Chemical Romance wrap up their five-night Hollywood Bowl run on Halloween weekend, with The Used opening the Oct. 30 โDevilโs Nightโ show and Thrice opening on Oct. 31 at Hollywood Bowl. The run celebrates The Black Parade, the album the band staged as a full theatrical story when they lit up Dodger Stadium for The Black Parade doubleheader in 2025. Bert McCrackenโs The Used bring songs from their ninth album, Toxic Positivity, to Fridayโs bill, and Thrice, who showcased new music at a sold-out Shrine Auditorium gig in 2016, close the weekend on Saturday.
Oct. 31 โ The Bronx at Garden Amphitheatre
Not LA proper, but worth the drive to Garden Grove: The Bronx headline Garden Amphitheatre on Oct. 31, the veteran hardcore-punk outfit that once played Punk in the Park Ventura alongside Pennywise and Suicidal Tendencies. They top a stacked eight-band lineup rounded out by ska-punk veterans Voodoo Glow Skulls, Strawberry Fuzz, and Plague Vendor โ the latter bringing the same wiry post-punk energy that tore through Echo Park Rising back in 2017 โ plus Gottlieb, Plug Uglies, LA Misfits, and San Diego’s Mrs. Magician, who once helped thrash the Glass House alongside Drive Like Jehu.

BEST CONCERTS IN LOS ANGELES THIS MONTH
Concert Essentials In Your Bag
When at a concert, you always want to make sure your bag is aligned with the rules of the concert venue. That means either having a small clutch that cannot exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ or, if you need something bigger, you can get a clear bag with a maximum size of 12″ x 6″ x 12″ (not all venues have bag rules; be sure to check before arriving).
This is the best point-and-shoot camera that all the pros have. Your photos will legit look like you had photo pit access.
In your bag, you should always pack protective earplugs. These are super cute, work great, and these are also winners.
Sanitizer is a must! Because, so many germs. This sanitizer spray is sleek and actually nourishes your hands. It doesn’t dry them out.
If you have foot or leg pain, or just aren’t used to standing for a long time, you absolutely need these.
