modern english mesh and lace

“I’ll stop the world and melt with you / You’ve seen the difference and it’s getting better all the time,” the memorable chorus to ’80s classic “Melt With You” begins. On May 15, the band behind the hit Modern English will perform their 1981 debut album, Mesh & Lace in its entirety at The Echoplex. That album contains the song that shot the British new wave band to the top of the charts.

The band is touring North America through May and most of June, with original members Robbie Grey (lead vocals), Gary McDowell (guitar/vocals), Mick Conroy (bass/vocals), Stephen Walker (keyboards) and Ric Chandler (drums) in tow.

Tickets to the special Part Time Punks 11th anniversary show at The Echoplex are priced at $15-$20 and doors open at 8 PM for this all-ages show.
