Now this should be a worthy flick to check out. Directed by Grant Gee, this new documentary, “Joy Division,” is being coined as the best documentary on the band to be made. Although it’s official UK release is May 2, 2008, many lucky fans have seen the film at various film festivals. The response has been nothing but positive and has surpassed the likes of Anton Corbijn’s movie “Control”. Instead of focusing on the tragedy of Ian Curtis, the new documentary examines the band’s story through never-before-seen live performance footage, personal photos, period films and newly discovered audiotapes.
