dan-auerbach-solo-by-james-quineAll good things come to an end. Looks like the bearded blues-man with voice of a soul brother is fleeing the nest. Dan Auerbach, front-man and guitar God of the amazing duo The Black Keys is going SOLO!

Needles, to say this does NOT mean the end of The Black Keys, although we all know what happens when the star of the band goes his own way for whatever reasons (sorry Pat, you rock Mr. Octopus …). I just don’t see how Dan has the time to do all this; The Black Keys, his solo debut, producing all the many albums (Black Diamond Heavies, Brimstone Howl, Hacienda, etc.), quite the feat and an admirable one through and through. My conclusion: There’s two Dan Auerbachs … ha

auerbach-keep-it-hidDan will release his solo debut, “Keep it Hid” off Nonesuch Records this February 10, 2009. With a national tour going off in New York City, Boston, and Washington, DC, he will be supported by opening acts Those Darlins and Hacienda. Not to mention, Hacienda will also take the stage as Dan’s back-up band. “Keep it Hid” consists of 14 tracks described as “real dark tunes,” and “psychedelic rumbas.”

I’m sure Dan will deliver an impressive solo debut. Check out his tour dates below and “Keep it Hid’s” track listing. I’m diggin’ the track titles and look forward to their words and meanings … interesting.
