In the paste couple of years, our favorite “thin white duke,” David Bowie, has brought back a lot of the great songs that made us fall in love with him. From his “iSELECT:BOWIE” digital album to his “David Bowie, Live Santa Monica 72,” I don’t think I’m the only one that feels: you can never get too much Bowie.
Coming through Oct. 12, 2009, Bowie’s 1969 album “Space Oddity” is to be re- released with a variety of unreleased tracks.
For some great musicians, I just think it’s best that they don’t come back with a “new” album. Most of the shit that our favorite rockers from the 60’s and 70’s put out this day and age is just God-awful. The shit comes off cheesy as they try to adapt to the music of today. Conversely, for some, it can work (a rare few). But I sure do enjoy when they bring back the music of their golden age and even better yet, unreleased tracks.
The 40th anniversary edition is to be released digitally, on CD and on 180 gram vinyl with unreleased tracks including demos, radio sessions and alternate versions of album songs.
