Red jumpsuits…check. Party-rocking tunes…check. Music that only comes from Datarock…oh YEAH!

So you probably already heard about the band’s Catcher In The Rye EP, which is the “most extravagant single in history” by the same title…but they’ve also included a special bonus and secret EP titled California. Don’t you just LOVE surprises…we do!

The five-track EP contains music you’d expect from the funky, electro, dance and just awesome quartet from Norway. The tracks are actually a sneak peak of what’s to come from a future album, Datarock – the musical. Umm, yeah we’re already liking what we’re hearing!

The first track is actually titled “Life Is A Musical” and sort of reminds you of ’80s new wave pop with an epic chorus that’s like something out of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. A greet peepshow of what’s to come for the actual album!

The next track “Great Pets” is very much a mix of The Knacks’ “My Sharona” and Devo’s “Whip It,” which should already tell you that the jam is very upbeat with a fast tempo. You gotta love the L.A. and California girls references thrown throughout the infectious track. I know this summer, it’s gonna be the top track when my Jeep goes topless!

“California” is another rock-out, party jam that makes you proud to live in beautiful Cali…it should be the state’s official tune in my opinion. Anyways, you’ll love it whether or not you live in the state because of its electro-fused, indie-dance harmonies that put you in a great mood. Who needs Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” when you have a better version from Datarock!

Besides being able to get both EPs on iTunes, you can also get them PLUS 105 bonus tracks, 1500 photos, 20 music videos, and a 60 minute concert film when you buy the Datarock Translucent Red USB drive, which is very cute!
