If the Rolling Stones, the Strokes and Nirvana are your cup of tea, then you definitely need to check out Obits who will be headlining a show at The Echo on Thursday, November 21. Formed in 2006 by vocalist Rick Froberg in Brooklyn, New York, the band took 3 years to debut their first album, I Blame You. Soon after, Sub Pop picked them up and signed them on. Since then, they have been creating some badass rock and roll for music enthusiasts. To say they are just a just another rock band is completely understated. They offer listeners bits of different genres, with undertones of surf rock, amazing guitar licks. and thrashing drums that keep you constantly bobbing your head. The similarity between Froberg and Kurt Cobain’s voice just adds an extra kick of pleasure to the ears. Join them in support of their latest album titled Bed and Bugs, with opening acts Rob Crow’s Gloomy Place and Obliterations.

Tickets are $12 – $14, doors open at 8:30 PM, and the event is 18 and over. You can win a pair of tickets by entering the contest below, courtesy of the Echo and Grimy Goods!
