When we first reported that the Arctic Monkeys were going to headline the STAPLES Center, fans were equally excited and surprised. There was a mix of reactions where veteran fans of the once underground indie act could not believe that they made it so big to headline the monstrous STAPLES Center. Many fans knew without a doubt that the Arctic Monkeys would sell-out the venue, while others were a bit more skeptical. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the Arctic Monkeys indeed sold-out the STAPLES Center. In fact, they sold the venue out well before their show date. And to think, we caught these guys when they were just budding baby boys at Spaceland in 2005. Now these men have become super sexy rockstars with so much on-stage swagger.

The Arctic Monkeys opened up with their current hit song “Do I Wanna Know” from their critically acclaimed fifth album, AM.  From the first pound of the bass drum and that seductive guitar, the ladies immediately went wild. Yes, we all know that front-man Alex Turner has grown out of that awkward bowl-cut and into a sexy (very sexy, very very sexy) show-man with style and inviting hip thrusts. This boy literally drops panties as women get near him. With the sudden influx of bras and panties hitting the stage, for a brief second we thought we were at a Tom Jones show! It was insane.

The Arctic Monkeys put on an outstanding performance. We caught them in early June at a private and very intimate performance at the new (and exclusive) iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, and after catching that incredible set we knew their STAPLES show was going to be outstanding; and it was.
