English indie rockers alt-J continued their rise Saturday at Coachella, playing to one of the larger main stage crowds.
They’ve been regulars on the festival circuit lately, and they proved with their performance that they will be mainstays for years to come. It was only two years ago that they last played Coachella, and in that span they’ve grown their following considerably.
Their well-rounded set included a Bill Withers cover (“Lovely Day”) and favorites like “Tessellate” and “Breezeblocks.”
The visuals that accompanied their set was perfect as the sun had just begun to set. For those that were messing with hallucinogenics, they were probably peaking pretty good during this time. It was a nice cool down part of the night before things kicked back up into gear with Jack White and many DJs still to come.
