Los Angeles hip hop artist, Yonas Michael has taken the reigns behind the mic once again. Formerly one part of the hip hop duo U-N-I, Yonas has taken his birth name to reveal his new solo project. Bursting with old time-y jazz and soul influences, as well as modern experimental beats and clever samples — Yonas’ music palette is a robust collection of elements that shines above the norm.
This past February, Yonas premiered his debut single “Blessed.” Now the experimental hip hop artist has delivered another infectious track that seduces the ears. His new single, “South Pacific” comes from his forthcoming full-length solo debut — Black Swan Theory — which is set for release this June. Produced by produced Spyda, “South Pacific” kicks off with high-pitched vocal samples and a flirty female voice, setting the tone for a sexy ride. With jet-setting rhymes about living the good life, Yonas’ flows roll out seamlessly with style and rhythm. From a stealth lyrical cadence to a toned down sultry R&B vibe, “South Pacific” takes a pleasurable turn for the sensual as the track comes to an end. Like great sex, it definitely leaves you wanting some more.
Yonas Michael is gearing up for an album release party and performance in early June. The Los Angeles location has yet to be announced, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated once the venue is confirmed. You won’t want to miss out on this event.
