After canceling his December 2014 show date at the El Rey Theatre due to a family illness, Johnny Marr has announced a new Los Angeles show date at the El Rey Theatre on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Additionally, the legendary guitarist will also perform at The Glass House in Pomona on Friday, March 4!
Best known as the former co-songwriter and guitarist for The Smiths, the idolized musician has also played with the likes of Modest Mouse, The Cribs, The Petshop Boys and many more. Marr’s last solo album was 2014’s Playland. In 2015 he released Adrenalin Baby: Johnny Marr Live, a 17-track album of live cuts. Today on Marr’s Facebook he announced “It’s time to take my new thing back to California”. In addition to Marr’s El Rey Theatre and Glass House dates, his California Jam Tour will also hit up The Belly Up in Solana Beach, Strummers in Fresno, and various California venues.
Tickets to Johnny Marr at the El Rey Theatre on March 5 are priced at $35 and will go on sale Friday, January 15 at 10 a.m.
