Ron Gallo

After spending a decade as a prominent name in Philly’s underground music world, Ron Gallo, the former frontman of Toy Soldiers went in the solo direction. Now the tall and slender eccentric is gearing up to deliver his second full-length record titled Heavy Meta. From the new album, Gallo has shared new single “Put The Kids To Bed.” The gritty new song is fueled with fuzz and a striking early punk sound. With its catchy rhythm and pogo-inducing vibrancy, the song is built to make you move.

After spending an intense year of love, loss, purging, and a musical reinvention, Gallo was in search of a new beginning. Attracted to the rock ‘n’ roll seeping out of the back alleys of Tennessee’s “Music City,” Gallo decided to join his friends there and made the Bordeaux neighborhood of Nashville his new home.

With three full length records and three EPs to his name (spanning his Toy Soldiers and solo career), Gallo has performed alongside Wanda Jackson, Dr. Dog, Deer Tick, and many more. His new album, Heavy Meta is set for release April 22 via his own American Diamond Recordings. Featured on the album is the aformentioned “Put the Kids to Bed”and “Young Lady, You’re Scaring Me.” You can stream them both below.

Ron Gallo will be at SXSW this March. We’re hoping he’ll soon make a trip to Los Angeles some time after the festival.
