The most exciting weekend in East Los Angeles is rumbling down Sunset Boulevard. Echo Park Rising is back and has announced its 2017 lineup. The three-day neighborhood festival will take place August 17- 20th throughout Echo Park.

This year’s Echo Park rising lineup will feature the following acts:

Surf Curse, The Buttertones, Dungen, CRX (featuring Nick Valensi from The Strokes), Moon Honey, Alice Bag, Freedom Fry, Meatbodies, Plague Vendor, Franki & the Witch Fingers, Boogaloo Assassins, Aleyska, Banta, Goon, Meatbodies, Sextile, Rudy De Anda, Ramonda Hammer, Honus Honus, Joel Jerome, Liv Slingerland, Ethio Cali Ensemble and Ex Stains – featuring Allison Wolfe (Bratmobile), Greg Forman (Cat Power), and a lot more bands!

Celebrating seven years, Echo Park Rising will also feature comedy from Comedy Garage, kid’s music programming, hipster crafts, storytelling, art openings at the Subliminal Projects gallery and Iam8bit plus discounts from neighborhood businesses.

Taking place across various venues and businesses throughout Echo Park, Echo Park Rising is free to attend (as always) and open to all ages.

For those that would like a more elevated experience, there are 2-day VIP passes available. The VIP passes include include shade seating, beer, and mezcal tastings.

Thursday before Echo Park Rising, the Echo and Echoplex will host a kick off party with the Super Tight Variety Show, Swedish rock band Dungen and DJ Jonathan Toubin’s Soul Clap & Dance Off.
