Created in a single session of songwriting, beat-making, and gin-sipping by MXRTY THE PXRTY and his friend Chazei the track is a combustive collision of old-school funk and hip-hop. The goal was to “write something fun” and the duo pretty much did just that.

MXRTY THE PXRTY brings colossal and immutable energy to “Head Over Feet,” rapping over its spiraling beats and frantic production with rabid enthusiasm. Which makes sense given the song is about tripping hard over someone and ending up as the title says — head over feet.
“Head Over Feet” punctuates the stumbling sense any phenomenal fling might cause with its kinetic sonics. As MXRTY THE PXRTY and Chazei trade bars pining over their infatuation industrial-sized drops, frenetic percussion, and electric riffs spasm in quick bursts across the track.
With the release of his single “Run It Back” last year, MXRTY THE PXRTY started to make waves with his mix of alt-rock and hip-hop. Which was borne out of the Angeleno’s past experience playing drums in bands like New Language — as well as a fearsome admiration of artists like Anderson .Paak, Childish Gambino, Mac Miller, and Prince. The impeccable vibes of his songs and their wild child ethos make them deeply infectious but with “Head Over Feet” it’s becoming clear MXRTY THE PXRTY is getting more potent with every single.
“‘Head Over Feet’ is a pure vibe that is a mixture of old-school funk and alternative hip-hop. I wrote this song with long-time friend Chazei who is also featured on this song. We drank a bottle of our favorite gin and refused to micromanage the process by saying to each other, “let’s write something fun”, then we wrote and recorded the song that day in one session. We had a blast creating this song and I’m confident the song will infect you with the same amazing vibes! It captures the flirtatious feelings of a summertime fling so good that you’ll lose your balance tripping, needing to get your ‘Head Over Feet.'”
