When You Grow Up, a new “micro” music festival in the heart of South Los Angeles will make its highly anticipated debut this Sunday, Aug. 14 featuring local rising stars Amindi, Kalan.FrFr, Alex Isley, Diamond White, Peter $un, Denim Nicole, Mia Kennedi and many more promising acts that represent the diverse musical landscape of South L.A.
Presented by SoLa I CAN and Live Nation, in an effort to train a new generation of Black and Brown industry professionals from South L.A., the lineup for When You Grow Up Fest was produced and curated by students that took part in the Live Nation NextGen paid apprenticeship. The program is a paid apprenticeship where 20 Black and Brown students (ages 15-21) explore various career pathways in the entertainment and music industries through technical training and mentorship from industry insiders.
The inaugural When You Grow Up Fest will take place Sunday, Aug. 14 from 11am to 7pm at the SoLa Beehive. The event will feature over 15 live performances, as well as art, food, and local artisans and vendors.
Tickets to When You Grow Up Fest are priced at $20 with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting future SoLa I Can Tech Center partnerships. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the event page.
