Just in time for The ESTRELLA Part 2 Tour, Mexican-Dominican artist Ambar Lucid returns guns blazing with “NADIE COMO TU.” The single marks the first solo release of this year, which dropped a few days before she kicked off her headlining tour in Vancouver on the 15th and has an LA date at The Belasco on the 20th.

While not a stranger to electronic inflictions, “NADIE COMO TU” is the most in-your-face with how it catches you by surprise and moves into Ambar’s most club-ready song to date.

Always willing to try out different styles, Ambar moves closer to electronic music, more so than previous singles like “444,” which also featured a dance beat but not at this level. At first, the underwater quality of the oscillating instrumental goes off in a calm direction and takes time to settle in. Not long after, the track pivots into a loud dance beat that emerges onto the surface, borrowing elements of the underground Jersey club, such as the familiar rhythm and mattress squeak noise.

But unlike other artists who’ve experimented with the same sound, she incorporates it far more seamlessly, mainly because she is so known for dabbling in other genres. Similarly, she moves between English and Spanish lyrics seamlessly while taking the backseat as the production is more than enough to stand on its own.

Considering Ambar produced the single primarily on her own, with help from Jack Laboz, it’s no wonder “NADIE COMO TU” feels tailor-made for her. Though a step in a new and exciting direction, the single confirms she’s something of a chameleon who can adapt to anything thrown at her. While it’s unclear if the song is a tease for what’s to come, its less than two-minute runtime is still enough to kickstart her tour with flying colors.
