The music of Los Angeles-based indigenous artist CHLOE STAR converges on raucously urgent pop-punk with a hip-hop edge. Their latest single “Found My Peace” arrives as the second in a trilogy of confessional tracks and music videos that zero in on the lingering effects of toxic relationships. With four singles out to date, her influences range from classic singer/songwriters like Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain, to incorporating the sonic and emotional bravado of contemporaries Willow and Billie Eilish.
Growing up between L.A. and her parents’ reservation in San Bernardino, CHLOE STAR coped with the volatility and turmoil of life through journaling and poetry, which helped them get a handle on their inexpressible emotions. Eventually, that practice dovetailed into writing songs, teaching herself how to play both piano and guitar in the process. The release of her first two singles — “Element” and “Straight Girls” — leaned heavily toward hip-hop atmospherics and concussive beats.
The drop of “Fool” found her diving headfirst into a driving rush of sprinting guitars and percussion. Enveloped by a laundry list of perceived mistakes and reckonings with her past, the song is an electrifying anthem that both acknowledges and lionizes one’s valiant stumbling through life. While its accompanying music video finds her locked into a relationship quickly careening off the rails.
“Found My Peace” picks up exactly where the last single and video left off: with CHLOE STAR floating in the water ready to detach themselves from all that’s toxic in their life. Directed by Ricardo Emmanuel the stunning film opens with her singing solo illuminated by a single spotlight — but as the song’s galvanizing melody kicks in they’re joined by a full band as they give a transfixing performance while bathed in red lights.
With her latest release, CHLOE STAR emerges fully embroiled in the ferociously invigorating realm of pop punk. One where grueling guitars, shrieking synths, and thunderous drums all give voice to the ecstatically cathartic emotion that flares up from her ever-intimate and rousing lyricism.

Like her last single, it’s a song that draws on visceral emotional experience to get at the very heart of an elusive but incredibly potent feeling. Every stirring howl that they jettison from her lips articulates the joy and freedom that comes with finally letting go of someone else’s dead weight. Keep an eye out for CHLOE STAR’s next single and music video which will complete the trilogy!
“The process of writing this song felt so organic,” CHLOE explained. “It came so easily, and I think that’s because it was so true to my feelings that everything just flowed exactly how it was supposed to. I was finally freed from my own demons that have been haunting me.”
