The album was recorded over the span of seven months in North Hollywood. After listening to the record in full, Staples intuitively came up with the album title, as he noticed recurring heavy motifs.
Creating a thought-provoking piece, the album cover for Dark Times features a barely visible noose. Staples shared of the album art, “I’m Black, and that’s what we’re evading,” he says of the inspiration behind the image. “We all have our things that could kill us. We all have that imminent threat.”
Vince Staples has yet to announce any new tour dates, but we all know that with a new album comes a new tour. Stay tuned.
