Long Beach rapper Vince Staples brought the Life Aquatic Tour to the Observatory in Santa Ana and dished out an energetic and visually stunning set. At 10pm sharp after a theatrical and bizarre performance from Kilo Kish the house lights dimmed and all eyes were on a giant panoramic split screen backdrop lit up with oceanic images. The beat dropped for “Prima Donna” and Staples slowly made his appearance.

Staples, as usual, doesn’t waste any time talking between tracks, instead he uses his energy to rip through a 20-song set using every inch of the stage to keep the crowd jumping all night long. He performed tracks from his two albums Summer 06 and Prima Donna including his feature on Flume’s “Smoke & Retribution.”

The Long Beach rapper ended his set with his most recognizable tracks “Blue Suede” and “Norf Norf” with a Long Beach Postcard on his large backdrop (see below).

Vince Staples delivered a breathtaking performance with an incredible light show and surpassed everyone’s expectations.
