Experience Vance Joy’s sweeping indie-folk
With a voice that could stop a stranger in their tracks—as it no doubt did during his Melbourne busking days—the stirring spirit of Vance Joy’s indie-folk will find itself magnified at the Hollywood Bowl. Anthemic, briskly propulsive, and delivering a lyricism clad with joyous sincerity, the sweeping melodics and energy that persist across his last three LPs will leave no section of the amphitheater untouched.
From Red Rocks Amphitheatre to the Sydney Opera House he’s proved himself a performer who knows how to effortlessly and momentously capture the hearts of massive audiences. Whether you’re enjoying your bargain tickets in the upper levels or sitting in the coveted box seats—Vance Joy is going to have you soaring.
A celebration of ten years with Dream Your Life Away
The concert will also mark a notable milestone in Vance Joy’s career in the form of the 10th anniversary of his debut Dream Your Life Away. So fans should expect the set to be built around the record’s tracklisting, though it will also include favorites from across the rest of his discography. That includes the rolling poignancy of “Mess Is Mine,” the slow-dancing balladry of “Georgia,” and, of course, the rousing sprints of “Riptide.” These are the songs that launched the singer-songwriter’s star, and you couldn’t ask for a better place to revel in their foot-stomping, soul-howling excitements.

Get your socks rocked off with GROUPLOVE
Priming the audience for the revivifying folk of Vance Joy will be Los Angeles’ very own GROUPLOVE. We’ve had the privilege to see these surf-rockers turned pop chameleons multiple times over the years at venues like Troubadour, Hard Rock Cafe, and the Hollywood Palladium, as well as festivals like ALT 98.7 Summer Camp.
Every single time, they put on a show that is simultaneously the hardest, loudest, and easily the most fun concert anyone in their crowds has ever experienced. Full of bliss, love, and nostalgia their shape-shifting sound is as eclectic as it is electrifying when unleashed live. Even if you’re only familiar with their hits, you’re going to walk away from this set as fervent fans.
Ethereal harmonies from Tiny Habits
On their debut EP Tiny Things, Tiny Habits shares an audaciously beautiful cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s “Landslide” that tells you everything you need to know about this singer-songwriter trio. Their delicately glowing harmonies and melodious instrumentation will place a spell on your heart in a way that iconic song has never done before.
After numerous singles, they released their debut LP All for Something just this year, unveiling a collection of resplendent, sonorous, and revitalizing music. From the driving rollick of “People Always Change” to the luminously revelatory heartache and honesty of “Malleable.” Before the night sweeps you away with euphoric anthems—Tiny Habits is going to leave you quietly enamored and awed.

Three bands for the fraction of one
A ticket to most concerts nowadays will rarely run under $30—and that’s usually even before fees. That simple fact makes shows like this at the Hollywood Bowl a sad rarety that you should always try to take advantage of. For just $15, you can see three incredible bands—two of which, as headliners anywhere else, would cost you double that just to see. If you’re not someone who desperately needs to be in the front of GA to enjoy a show, which, let’s be honest, most people who attend concerts at the Bowl don’t go for that kind of experience. You attend an amphitheater large for its communal atmosphere, sublime acoustics, and stunning views. And there is no better outdoor amphitheater than the iconic, Hollywood Bowl.
There are plenty of similarly stacked concerts happening at the Hollywood Bowl this season. If you’re a fan of Vance Joy and GROUPLOVE, then you’ll probably also want to see Gary Clark Jr. and The War And Treaty, Pink Martini featuring China Forbes and Andrew Bird Trio, Mt. Joy and Local Natives, and more.
