The 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards almost didn’t happen this year. The tragic Los Angeles wildfires that wreaked havoc on Altadena and Pacific Palisades on January 7th became the focal point of this year’s GRAMMY celebrations. And rightfully so, because it was the only way such a lavish celebration could have been pulled off given the collective trauma Los Angeles is going through. Despite the many tears shed throughout the show, there were moments of joy and empowerment. Check out our 10 favorite moments from the 2025 GRAMMYs below.

1. GRAMMYs Shine a Light on Los Angeles Fire Relief Efforts and Acknowledge Community Suffering
Watching the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards without shedding many tears was impossible. The amount of coverage the LA Fires received throughout the ceremony was the show’s focal point, and rightfully so. The pain of witnessing the destruction of our beloved community in Altadena and Pasadena will always be felt. Some of us still have to see the wreckage every day because this is where we live, where we bonded with friends, our schools, and the many small businesses that once flourished in Altadena and will flourish again. We chose to support those businesses still standing amongst the carnage, even if it means crying each time we see the remains of our friends’ homes and our children’s classrooms. We want to see the community thrive so it can be rebuilt. This is why it’s important to continue supporting those most in need—like the families still displaced at the Pasadena Convention Center and other evacuation shelters.
The Los Angeles wildfires, which ravaged Altadena and Pallisades, are now the second (Eaton fire) and third (Pallisades Fire) most destructive wildfires on record in California. They are estimated to have destroyed more than 16,000 homes and other structures. Rebuilding costs could reach hundreds of billions of dollars.
The GRAMMYs raised over $7 million from viewers watching at home. Let’s hope all the many multimillionaires in attendance also opened their pockets to show their support.
