Los Angeles vocalist, Ella Vos has released a gorgeous new track titled “Glitter and Tears.” With only soft piano keys and the lulling dulcet vocals of Lauren Salamone (aka Ella Vos) — the touching song is Ella Vos’ most raw and vulnerable yet.
A song about pain, triumph and rebirth — the emotive lyrics detail the feelings and struggles Salamone endured with her lymphoma diagnosis and treatments. The news of this cancer arrived just as she was one week into her first headline tour; however, she continued on. After a year of cancer treatments and being sick, Salamone’s marriage of 8 years ended.
“This is a song about pain and healing and rebirth,” shares Ella Vos in an Instagram post. “The most honest song I’ve written. I’m so excited to invite you into this next era of Ella Vos.”

Written and produced by Ella Vos, Tommy English and Mona Khoshoi — the aural offering also arrives with a music video produced and directed by Kate Rentz. Shot in the magical nooks of the Angeles Crest Forest, we see Ella Vos bathing in the nude in a shimmering creek as she lets go of pain and allows for a beautiful rebirth to take place.

Shot in both digital and 8mm film, with cinematography by Sam Hunter — Ella Vos cleanses her self with water as the sun reflects from the creek onto her skin giving off an angelic sort of “The Birth of Venus” vibes. As she sings the honest chorus; “wish you were there for my worst, but I’m kind of glad that you weren’t,” we see and feel the transition from pain to acceptance and a most loving rebirth.
